About Block Bloom
A block puzzle that blooms
Block Bloom is a free online block puzzle you can play in your browser on a phone or a computer. You get an 8×8 garden bed and a tray of three blocks. Drag each block onto the bed, and when a row or a column is completely full it clears and blooms: every cell pops into a flower, petals fly, and the flowers float up into your garden meter. When all three blocks of a tray are placed, a new tray is dealt. The game ends when none of the blocks left in your tray fits anywhere on the bed.
The twist is colour. Every block carries one of five petal colours, and each colour has its own petal shape pressed into it (round, star, diamond, heart and leaf), so you can tell them apart even without colour. A line that clears with at most two colours is a Bouquet and scores double. A line of a single colour is a Full Bloom and scores four times as much. Every placement asks a small question: take the safe clear now, or keep a line open and finish it in a matching colour?
Why it's fun
- Clearing several lines at once scores far more than clearing them one by one: 1 line is 20 points, 2 lines 60, 3 lines 120 and 4 lines 200, before colour bonuses.
- The bloom chain grows with every placement that clears a line and multiplies your clear points up to ×3. It survives two placements without a clear, so a tidy tray keeps it alive.
- Empty the whole bed after a clear for a 300 point Fresh bed bonus.
- Trays start out fair: for the first 30 trays, a tray is only dealt if all three blocks fit the bed in at least one order, and a crowded bed always gets at least one small block. After that the garden grows wild: bigger blocks, weeds that sprout on the bed, and trays that may not fit all three, so every run builds to a finish.
- The Daily bed gives everyone the same stones and the same 30 trays each day, with your best daily score and a day streak.
- Every line you bloom plants a flower in your menu garden. Plant enough and you unlock new block skins: Summer, Autumn, Frost and Night Garden.
Runs usually last a few minutes. The game saves after every placement, so you can close the tab and continue the same bed later. It works with touch, mouse or keyboard and is fully playable with the sound off.
Tips
- Look at all three blocks before placing the first one. The order matters: place the big block while there is still room for it.
- Keep the middle of the bed open. Long 5-cell bars and the big corner pieces need space, and they are hard to fit along a messy edge.
- Avoid single-cell holes boxed in on all sides. Only a single-cell block can fill them.
- Aim for two or three lines at once. A placement that finishes a row and a column together is worth far more than two separate clears.
- When two tray blocks share a colour, build a line with them for a Bouquet or a Full Bloom, but don't wreck the bed chasing one.
How to play
Drag a block from the tray onto the garden bed; it floats above your finger and a ghost shows where it will land and which lines it will finish. You can also tap a block and then tap the bed cell for its top-left corner. Fill a whole row or column to clear it. On a keyboard, press 1, 2 or 3 to pick a block, move it with the arrow keys or WASD, and press Enter or Space to place it; Esc puts it back. P pauses and M mutes. The game ends when no block left in the tray fits.

FAQ
- What are Bouquets and Full Blooms?
- When a line clears, the game counts the petal colours in it. Two colours or fewer is a Bouquet and scores double; a single colour is a Full Bloom and scores four times as much. Stones in the Daily bed don't count as a colour.
- How does the bloom chain work?
- Every placement that clears at least one line adds 1 to the chain, and clear points are multiplied by 1 + 0.25 × chain, up to ×3 at a chain of 8. The chain survives two placements without a clear and resets on the third.
- Can I get a tray that doesn't fit at all?
- For the first 30 trays of Classic, no: a tray is only dealt if all three blocks fit the current bed in at least one order, and in every order once the bed is 70% full. After tray 30 the pressure rises: weeds sprout and a tray may not fit all three blocks, but every tray always has at least one block that fits. The Daily bed's 30 trays are fixed for everyone and checked to be playable to the end.
- What happens when nothing fits?
- The game is over. Once per game you can watch an optional ad to clear a 3×3 patch of your choice and keep going.
- How do I unlock new block skins?
- Every line you clear plants a flower in your menu garden. 100 lines unlock Summer, 300 Autumn, 800 Frost and 2,000 Night Garden. Tap the skin button on the title screen to switch.
- Does my progress save?
- Yes. Your best score, garden, skins, daily streak and the game in progress are saved on this device after every placement, and to your account when you're signed in.
