Flag Trek A free flag quiz with capitals and a daily 10
Name the country from its flag, find the capital, or pick the flag. Quick 10-question treks, a daily 10, and a three-heart survival mode.
About Flag Trek
Flag Trek is a quick world-flags quiz that fits into any spare minute. A run is ten questions long. A flag appears, you tap the country it belongs to, and the little fox explorer cheers you on. Get it wrong and the right answer is shown at once with the country's capital and region, so every question teaches you something, and the flags you miss come back later, just when you are about to forget them.
There are 195 countries to learn: the 193 members of the United Nations plus the Holy See and Palestine, which are observer states. You can play Flags, where you name the country; Capitals, where you match countries and their capital cities in both directions; and Pick the flag, where a name is shown and you find its flag among four. Every mode can be filtered by region, so you can master South America this week and Europe the next. The wrong answers always come from the same region as the right one, and look-alike flags are mixed in on purpose, so a question is never trivial.
The Daily 10 is the same ten questions for everyone on a given day, a different mix every day, starting with familiar countries and finishing with tougher ones. Finish it every day to build a streak. Survival mode gives you three hearts: a wrong answer or a timeout costs one, eight right answers in a row win one back, and the clock gets a little shorter as you go. How many countries can you name before your hearts run out?
Flag Trek remembers what you know. Each flag and each capital moves up through five boxes as you get it right and falls back to the start when you miss it, so misses return the next day, then in two days, then in a week. The Review button on the home screen is a run made only of what is due. As you learn, each of the six region badges grows from bronze to silver, gold and master, and the badge grid on the home screen shows your whole world at a glance. There are no maps in the game: it is only about flags and cities.
Tips: look for the details that separate similar flags, such as the order of the stripes or the shape of a symbol. Nordic crosses, tricolours and red, white and blue designs are easy to mix up, so slow down on those. The speed bonus is generous for the first three seconds, but a right answer is always worth more than a fast wrong one. Everything works with touch, mouse or keyboard: the number keys 1 to 4 pick answers. Flags come from the open-source flag-icons collection.
How to play
Pick a mode on the home screen, or tap Daily 10 to start at once. Each question shows a flag, a country or a capital; tap the right answer. Right answers earn points, a speed bonus and a streak bonus. In Survival you have three hearts and a clock. A wrong answer shows the right one, and it comes back later. On a keyboard, press 1 to 4 to answer and Space or Enter for the next question. P or Esc pauses and M mutes.

FAQ
- Which countries are in the game?
- The 193 member states of the United Nations plus the Holy See (Vatican City) and Palestine, which are UN observer states. That makes 195 flags. Territories and disputed regions are not included, and there are no maps.
- Is the Daily 10 the same for everyone?
- Yes. The questions depend only on the date in UTC, so everyone gets the same ten on the same day, and a new set starts at 00:00 UTC. Your streak counts the first Daily 10 you finish each day.
- How does the game remember the flags I get wrong?
- Every flag and capital has a box from 0 to 5. A right answer moves it up and it comes back later after a longer gap. A miss sends it back to box 0 so it returns in your next run. The Review button plays what is due.
- What do the region badges mean?
- Each region badge shows how much of that region you have learned, counting a flag and a capital as half each. The tiers are bronze at 20 percent, silver at 45, gold at 70 and master at 95.
- Some capitals have more than one answer. What counts?
- Where a country has more than one capital, such as Bolivia or South Africa, the official seat is the answer and the other cities are accepted too. After an answer the game says what each city really is, for example the seat of government or the former capital. An accepted city is never offered as a wrong answer to the same question.
- Does my progress save?
- Yes. Your boxes, best scores and streak are saved on this device, and to your account when you are signed in.
