Striker Flick A free carrom board game against a bot

Flick the striker to pocket your coins on a carrom board before the bot clears its own. Trick shots and a daily board too.

About Striker Flick

Striker Flick is a carrom board game for your phone or browser: slide the striker along your line, pull back to aim, and flick it so your coins fall into the corner pockets before the bot clears its own. It plays like the family game on the kitchen table, with nine cream coins, nine charcoal coins and one red queen on a polished birch board, but every flick is a quick, one-thumb gesture and a match takes only two to four minutes.

Each turn is simple. Drag the striker sideways to choose where to stand on your baseline, then drag backwards from it like a slingshot. A dashed guide shows the first thing the striker will touch, where the coin you hit will go, and where the striker will end up, and a power bar shows how hard you are pulling. Let go and the physics take over: coins clack, bounce off the rails and drop into the pockets. Pocket one of your own coins and you shoot again. Miss and the turn passes. Send the striker into a pocket and it is a foul, so a coin goes back on the board.

The red queen is where the game gets interesting. Pocket her and you must cover her by pocketing one of your own coins on the very next shot. Cover her and she is yours, worth three points. Fail and she goes back to the centre. Covered, she counts as two coins toward the finish, so she is a risk worth weighing: go for her early and the bot may punish a miss, or leave her and let your opponent take her first.

There is plenty to play. Take on three bots, from the forgiving Rookie to the sharp Champion, who plans real shots and rarely misses. Hand the phone to a friend for pass and play, where the board turns around for the second player. Work through 30 trick shots, each a puzzle with white coins to pocket and black coins and the queen to avoid, with up to three stars for solving it in as few flicks as possible. Come back every day for the daily trick board and build a streak.

Everything is built for short sessions. The touch controls are large and forgiving, the same gestures work with a mouse, and a keyboard fallback lets you slide, aim and shoot with the arrow keys and space. Progress saves automatically, sound can be muted at any time, and the game keeps its frame rate on ordinary phones.

How to play

  1. Place the striker. Drag the amber striker left or right along your baseline, or tap the line to move it there.
  2. Aim. Drag backwards from the striker (or from anywhere below it). The dashed guide shows where it will hit; the bar at the bottom shows your power.
  3. Flick. Let go to shoot. A short tap never fires, so you can change your mind by dragging back to the striker.
  4. Pocket your coins. You are white and shoot from the bottom; the bot is black and shoots from the top. Bank 4 coins (or all 9 in a full match) to win. Your coin in a pocket means another turn.
  5. Cover the queen. Pocket the red queen, then pocket one of your own coins on the next shot. Cover her and she counts as two coins; miss and she goes back.
  6. Avoid fouls. If the striker falls into a pocket your coins from that shot go back and you return one extra coin.

Keyboard: left and right arrows slide the striker, Space locks it, left and right turn the aim, up and down change power, Space flicks, Backspace goes back. P or Esc pauses, M mutes.

FAQ

How do I win a match?
Bank 4 coins: pocket 4 of your own, or 2 plus the red queen, which counts as two coins once you cover her. In Settings you can switch to a full match where you need all 9.
What is covering the queen?
After you pocket the red queen you must pocket one of your own coins on your very next shot. If you do, the queen is yours. If you miss or foul, she returns to the centre of the board.
What happens if the striker falls into a pocket?
That is a foul: the coins you pocketed on that shot go back to the centre, plus one more of your earlier coins as a penalty, and the turn passes.
Can I play with a friend on one device?
Yes. Choose Pass and play. The board turns around for the second player so both of you shoot upwards.
How do trick shots and stars work?
Each of the 30 trick shots shows white coins to pocket. Pocket them all without dropping a black coin, the queen or the striker. Finish in par shots for three stars, one more for two, two more for one.
What is the daily trick board?
A new trick set-up every day, the same for everyone. Solve it on consecutive days to build a streak.
Does my progress save?
Yes. Stars, wins and settings are saved on this device, and to your account when you are signed in.
