About Jigsaw Journeys
A jigsaw you can pick up anywhere
Jigsaw Journeys is a free online jigsaw puzzle you can play in your browser on a phone or a computer. Pick one of twelve hand-painted travel postcards, a harbour at sunrise, a lavender farm, a desert oasis under the first stars, a lantern festival on a night river, and cut it into 36, 70, 108, 192 or 300 pieces. The pieces wait in a tray under the picture frame. Drag them onto the board, and when a piece is close to where it belongs, or next to a neighbour it fits, it clicks into place with a little burst of sparkle along the seam.
Pieces that fit together join into a group and move as one, so you can build in the open and then drop a whole island into the picture. The finished part locks in, and the last piece sets off a glow, a shimmer across the picture and a shower of paper stamps.
Three keepsakes in every picture
Every postcard hides three keepsakes: a red kite, a sleeping cat, a yellow rowing boat. The moment every piece that covers a keepsake has joined, it stamps into your travel journal with a thump and a bonus. There are 36 stamps to collect across the twelve pictures, which gives you a reason to build toward the next one, and to look closely at the picture while you work.
Made for small screens and big ones
- Drag pieces from the tray; on a phone a piece rides just above your finger so you can see it.
- Zoom the board with the plus and minus buttons, a pinch, a double tap or the mouse wheel, and pan by dragging an empty spot.
- Show only the edge pieces, sort the tray by colour, hold Peek to see a faint copy of the picture, or use one of three free hints per puzzle.
- Rotate mode turns every piece to one of four directions. Tap a piece to turn it a quarter turn. It only snaps when it faces the right way.
- Your puzzle is saved as you go, and you can keep up to three unfinished puzzles.
The daily picture
Every day has one picture, one cut and one piece count for everyone, with a streak for playing on consecutive days and a leaderboard for the day's score. The weekend puzzles turn on rotate mode.
Tips
- Start with the corners and the edges. The Edges button hides the rest of the tray.
- Sort by colour when the sky or the sea is all one shade.
- For the 192 and 300 piece puzzles, zoom in before you place pieces. They are best on a bigger screen.
- Quick snaps in a row build a streak bonus.
How to play
Drag a piece from the tray under the picture and drop it where it belongs. Close to the right spot, or next to a piece it fits, it snaps into place with a click. On a keyboard press Tab to pick a loose piece, move it with the arrow keys (hold Shift for bigger steps) and press Enter to drop it. R turns it in rotate mode, E shows only the edges, H gives a hint, plus and minus zoom. P or Esc pauses and M mutes.

FAQ
- What are the keepsakes?
- Each picture hides three small things, like a red kite or a sleeping cat. When every piece that covers one has joined into the same group, it is stamped into your travel journal and earns a bonus.
- How many pieces can I choose?
- 36, 70, 108, 192 or 300 pieces. The two biggest sizes are best on a bigger screen; on a phone, zoom in to place the small pieces.
- What is rotate mode?
- Pieces start turned in one of four directions. Tap a piece (or press R) to turn it a quarter turn clockwise. A piece only snaps when it faces the right way.
- How do I unlock more pictures?
- Four pictures are open at the start. Every finished puzzle, of any size, opens the next one. The daily picture is always playable.
- Does my progress save?
- Yes. Your journal, stars, best scores and up to three unfinished puzzles are saved on this device as you play, and to your account when you are signed in.
- How is the score worked out?
- You get 10 points per piece (1.5 times that in rotate mode), a time bonus for beating the par time, 100 for each keepsake, a streak bonus for quick snaps and 10 percent extra if you used no hints. A puzzle scores at most 10,000.
