Room Remix A free home design game for picky clients
Furnish empty rooms for picky clients. Match their style, colours and must-haves on a budget to earn three stars.
About Room Remix
Room Remix is a cozy decorating puzzle about pleasing picky clients. Every level starts with an empty room and a client card. The card shows who you are decorating for, the style they love, the colours they want, the must-haves they can't live without, and a coin budget. Drag sofas, armchairs, tables, lamps, plants, rugs, wall art, shelves and little decorations out of the drawer and into the room. Every piece lands with a satisfying thud and a sparkle. Tap anything you've placed to flip it, recolour it, make it bigger or smaller, or send it back.
When the room feels right, tap Judge. Your client walks in and reacts. Stars pop one by one, their face lights up or falls, and a speech bubble tells you exactly what they think: "Loves the plants! Wanted a reading lamp." The judge uses clear, fair rules. It checks whether your colours fit the scheme they asked for, whether the pieces match their style, whether every must-have is there (a reading spot means a seat with a light right beside it), and whether the room is balanced, well filled and free of furniture squashed together. Go over budget and the best you can get is one star, so every coin counts.
There are 40 handcrafted briefs across four apartments, from a sunny studio loft to a penthouse above the city. There are twelve clients, from a grandmother who wants a cozy nook for her novels to a little girl planning the ultimate sleepover room. Stars open new apartments, and each one brings a fresh pack of furniture. Coins from new stars buy extra item packs: mid-century pieces, velvet and gold, country weekend finds and a curiosity cabinet. That makes 132 hand-painted items in all.
Everything you own also goes into My Place, your own room to decorate however you like, saved between visits. Come back every day for the daily brief, a fresh client with a new mix of style, colours and must-haves, and earn bonus coins. Room Remix is relaxing, readable and quick: one brief takes a couple of minutes, and there is no timer, so you can tweak until it's perfect.
Tips
- A reading spot needs a seat with a light right next to it: a floor lamp beside the armchair, or a table lamp on a side table beside the sofa.
- Recolour pieces to fit the scheme: a cream armchair can turn blue or pink in one tap.
- Furniture in the same row must not overlap, but you can stack depth: put a coffee table in the front row in front of the sofa.
- Hang at least one thing on the wall and keep the room balanced around the middle for full space points.
- Cheap pieces that match the style score just as well as expensive ones, so spend where it counts.
How to play
Read the client card at the top: their style tags, colour scheme, must-haves and budget. Drag items up from the drawer into the room, or tap an item card to drop it into a free spot. Floor items snap to three depth rows, wall items snap to the wall, rugs lie underneath, and small items sit on tables and shelves. Tap a placed item to flip, recolour, resize or delete it. Keep the spent counter under the budget, then tap Judge to see your stars. On a keyboard: Tab switches the drawer category, comma and full stop pick a card, Enter places it, the arrow keys pick a placed item, F flips, C recolours, minus and plus resize, Delete removes, J judges, and P or Escape pauses.

FAQ
- How does the judge decide the stars?
- It scores four things: how well your colours fit the client's scheme, how many pieces match their style, whether every must-have is in the room, and how well you used the space (filled, balanced, nothing squashed, something on the wall). Three stars also needs every must-have, no overlaps and a room within budget.
- What happens if I go over budget?
- The client will still give you feedback, but a room over budget can earn at most one star. The counter at the bottom turns red when you are over.
- How do I unlock new furniture?
- Each new apartment you reach brings a pack of furniture, and coins from new stars buy four extra item packs in the shop.
- Is my progress saved?
- Yes. Your stars, coins, packs, your current room and My Place are saved on this device, and to your account when you're signed in.
- Can every brief really get three stars?
- Yes. Every brief is checked by a solver that builds a three-star room from the items you are sure to own at that point, within the budget.
