About Duel Desk
Duel Desk is a pocket party pack of eight quick head-to-head duels. Grab a friend, share one phone or one keyboard, and race to five duel wins. No friend nearby? Play the very same duels against a bot on Easy, Normal or Hard.
Every duel fits on one screen and lasts well under a minute. In Puck Rush you slide a mallet and fire the puck into the goal. Rally Pong speeds the ball up on every return while the paddles shrink. Quick Draw is pure reflex: wait for GO, then tap first, because tapping early is a false start and hands your rival the point. Mud Tug is a tapping race with a twist, since taps inside the golden glow pull three times as hard. In Blade Bell you strike once per swing and the blow closest to the bell wins. Toy Tanks roll along on their own, so you have to lead your shot past drifting blocks. Bump Sumo is a shoving match in a shrinking ring, and Light Lines is a light-trail race where the first crash loses.
On a phone the screen splits in two: the bottom half is player one's pad, the top half is player two's, and every instruction turns to face the player holding that end. Each finger stays with the half it touched, so two thumbs never fight over a paddle. On a computer the arena turns sideways: player one plays on the left with W, A, S, D and Space, player two on the right with the arrow keys and Enter.
Before every duel a three-second card shows a ghost hand doing the move, so nobody has to read a rulebook. Between duels the scoreboard shows the match score and spins in the next duel. Pip, the red mascot, and Bo, the blue one, cheer every point and sulk at every miss, and the match winner gets a crown, a dance and a shower of confetti.
Solo players fill a trophy shelf: one trophy for each bot level beaten and one star for every duel won against the Hard bot. Your wins, streaks and stars are saved on this device.
How to play
Win duels to win the match: the first to 5 duel wins takes it. A 3-second hand demo shows each duel before it starts. In slide duels (Puck Rush, Rally Pong) your mallet or paddle follows your finger in your half. In tap duels (Quick Draw, Mud Tug, Blade Bell, Toy Tanks) tap anywhere in your half. In Bump Sumo drag to steer, and in Light Lines tap the left or right of your half to turn. Keyboard: player 1 uses W A S D and Space, player 2 uses the arrow keys and Enter. P or Esc pauses, M mutes.

FAQ
- Can two people really play on one phone?
- Yes. Hold the phone flat between you. The bottom half belongs to player one and the top half to player two, and both of you can touch at the same time.
- How do we play two players on a computer?
- Player one uses W, A, S, D and Space on the left side of the keyboard. Player two uses the arrow keys and Enter. The arena turns sideways so each player has their own side of the screen.
- How hard are the bots?
- Easy wins about three duels in ten against an average player, Normal about half, and Hard about seven in ten. Every bot plays by the same rules and speed limits as you.
- Can a duel go on forever?
- No. Each duel has a clock. When it runs out the leader wins, and a tie goes to sudden death where the next point wins and the game gets tougher until someone scores.
- Does my progress save?
- Yes. Your trophies, stars, wins and best streak are saved on this device, and to your account when you are signed in.
