Spin Strike A free axe throwing game at a spinning log
Throw axes into a spinning log at the woodland harvest fair. Stick them all without hitting your own, grab the gems and shatter the boss.
About Spin Strike
Spin Strike is a quick, thumb-friendly axe-throwing game set at a woodland harvest festival. A wooden target spins in the middle of the clearing, you hold a handful of axes, and every tap sends one flying into the log. Stick every axe to clear the stage. Hit an axe that is already stuck in the wood and the stage is lost.
Read the spin, pick your moment
The target never turns the same way twice. Early stages spin steadily, so you learn the rhythm. Then it starts to reverse, stutter in bursts with short rests in between, or speed up and fall back. The best throws are timed for the rest, the turn-around or the slow part of a swell, when the gaps between your axes hold still. The axe takes a moment to fly, so tap a beat before the gap reaches the bottom of the log.
Gems, close calls and streaks
Teal gems ride the rim of the log. Land an axe on one and it cracks open for coins and bonus points. Slip an axe into a gap with a hair to spare and you earn a close call bonus. Every six axes in a row without a clash raises your multiplier, up to times four, and a clash resets it.
Five stages make a chapter
Stages one to four build up, and the fifth is a boss. Each of the four bosses has its own painted target and its own rotation script, and when the last axe lands the target shatters into planks. Beat a boss and you get a fresh set of lives, a new axe from the festival rack and a new starting point: the next run begins at the chapter you reached, so you never replay stages you have beaten.
Twelve axes to collect
Coins buy axe skins in the shop: an oak hatchet, a berry splitter, a toadstool axe, a candy cleaver, a lantern axe and more, up to the golden festival axe. They are all cosmetic, so every axe is equally fair. Bosses hand over the next axe you do not own yet, and coins let you buy any of them early.
Short sessions, fair difficulty
A run starts with three lives and a stage takes under a minute, so it fits a coffee break. Losing a life restarts the same stage with the same layout, so you can learn it. The difficulty grows with caps on speed and axe count, and every layout is tested against a simulated casual player so that no stage is a wall. Spin Strike plays in portrait on phones, tablets and desktops with touch, mouse or keyboard, and saves your coins, axes and progress on this device and to your account when you are signed in.
How to play
Tap or click anywhere to throw an axe into the spinning log. On a keyboard press Space, Enter or the Up arrow. Stick all the axes in your hand to clear the stage. The big number beside the axe, and the row of axes along the bottom, show how many are left.
Do not hit an axe that is already stuck: if the gap between two axes is too small, the new one bounces off and you lose a life. You have three lives per run.
Tips: the axe takes a moment to fly, so throw just before the gap reaches the bottom of the log. Rests and turn-arounds are the safest moments. Land on teal gems for coins. Every fifth stage is a boss. Beating one refills your lives and gives you a new axe. P or Esc pauses, M mutes.

FAQ
- How do I clear a stage?
- Throw every axe in your hand into the log without touching an axe that is already stuck. The number of axes left is the big number beside your ready axe, and the row of axes along the bottom of the screen. When the last one sticks, the stage is clear.
- Why did my axe bounce off?
- It landed too close to another axe. Each stuck axe needs a small gap around it. Wait for a wider gap to reach the bottom of the log, and remember that the axe takes a moment to fly, so throw slightly early.
- How many lives do I have?
- Three per run. Each clash costs one and restarts the stage. Beating a boss refills them. When you run out, you can watch a short video once per run to carry on with one more life, or end the run.
- What are the gems for?
- Land an axe on a gem on the rim and it breaks for coins and bonus points. Coins buy axe skins in the shop. Boss gems are worth three coins.
- How do I get new axes?
- Every boss you beat hands over the next axe you do not own yet. You can also buy any axe with coins in the Axes shop. Axes are cosmetic: they all hit exactly the same.
- Do I start from stage one every time?
- No. Each run begins at the start of the chapter after the last boss you beat, so your progress is kept.
- Does my progress save?
- Yes. Coins, axes and your furthest stage are saved on this device, and to your account when you are signed in.
