About Klondike Solitaire
Klondike Solitaire is the classic patience card game, free to play in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Build the four foundations up by suit from ace to king, using seven tableau columns, a stock and a waste pile. There is nothing to install and no account needed: open the page and the cards are dealt.
Every move is a small decision. Which column should you open first to turn over a hidden card? Should that four of hearts go home now, or stay on the table as a landing spot for a black three? When is it time to turn the stock again? Face-up cards stack down in alternating colours, a whole run can move together, and only a king can fill an empty column. When every hidden card is face up, auto-finish flies the rest of the deck home for you.
The daily deal is the heart of the game. Each day there is one Draw 1 deal and one Draw 3 deal, the same for every player, and a solver has proven that each of them can be won. Early in the week the Draw 1 daily is a gentler deal. Every deal shows three star goals: win it, win it within par, and win it without using undo. A month calendar keeps your daily stars, and winning a daily on consecutive days builds your streak. Prefer to play at your own pace? Start a random deal in either mode, and switch on Winnable only if you want the solver to check the deal first.
Stars add up across all deals and unlock new card backs at 15, 45, 90 and 150 stars and new table felts at 30 and 100 stars. Stats for each mode track games, wins, win rate, best time, fewest moves and your best winning streak. Scores go to the leaderboard: ten points for every card sent home, five for every card you turn over or play from the waste, and a bonus for winning that is bigger the faster you finish.
Tips: turn over hidden cards as early as you can, starting with the longest columns. Don't empty a column unless you have a king ready to move into it. Hold back low cards from the foundations while you still need them to build on. In Draw 3, think before playing from the waste, because it changes which cards come up on the next pass. And if you are stuck, a hint shows the next move the solver would make.
A deal usually takes five to ten minutes, which makes Klondike Solitaire a calm break between other things. Your progress, the deal in play, your stars and your settings are saved automatically.
How to play
Tap or click a face-up card to send it to its best spot: a foundation if it fits, otherwise a column. Tap it again to try the next legal spot. You can also drag cards and runs, and tap the stock to turn over one card (Draw 1) or three (Draw 3). Build the four foundations from ace to king by suit; in the columns, stack cards down in alternating colours, and only kings go into empty columns. On a keyboard, the arrow keys pick a pile and a card, Enter or Space moves it, D draws, U or Ctrl+Z undoes, H shows a hint, F starts auto-finish, P or Esc pauses and M mutes.

FAQ
- Is every deal winnable?
- The daily deals are: a solver has won each of them before they are offered. Random deals are shuffled freely, so a few cannot be won; switch on Winnable only in the menu to get only deals the solver has won.
- What is the difference between Draw 1 and Draw 3?
- In Draw 1 the stock turns over one card at a time, which is easier. In Draw 3 it turns three, and only the top one can be played, so planning matters more. Turning the stock over again is free in Draw 3; in Draw 1 every pass after the first costs 50 points.
- How do I earn three stars?
- Win the deal, finish within the par move count shown at the top, and don't use undo. Drawing from the stock does not count as a move. Each goal is one star, and stars unlock card backs and table felts.
- How does scoring work?
- A card sent to a foundation is worth 10 points, turning over a hidden card or playing from the waste to a column 5. Taking a card back from a foundation costs 15 and each undo 10. A win adds 1000 points plus a bonus for finishing in under ten minutes.
- How many hints do I get?
- Three per deal. After that you can watch a short ad for three more, once per deal.
- Is my game saved?
- Yes. The deal in progress, your stats, stars and daily calendar are saved on this device automatically, and to your Playora account when you are signed in.
