About Snake Arena
Snake Arena is a free online snake battle game you can play right in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer. You steer a hungry snake around a round arena full of glowing pellets and rival snakes controlled by bots. Eat pellets to grow longer, and make the other snakes crash into your body to collect the pellets they leave behind. There is no download and no sign-up: a round starts the moment the game loads.
The heart of the game is the cut-off. Any snake whose head touches another snake's body is knocked out and bursts into a ring of pellets worth most of its length. The bots play by the same rules, so the trick is to slide your head across a rival's path and let it run into you. Boost to get there first, but boosting spends your length and drops it behind you as pellets anyone can eat. After about a minute the coral ring wall starts closing in, and anything left outside it is out. The ring squeezes every snake into a smaller and smaller space until only one is left, so every round ends within three minutes.
Winning a round moves you up an arena tier. There are ten tiers: higher tiers bring more bots (up to five), faster reactions and bots that boost and hunt for cut-offs more often. Lose twice in a row and you drop back a tier, but never more than three below your best. Wins, kills and tiers unlock twelve snake skins, from stripes and scales to neon, and there are seven achievements to earn and an online leaderboard for your best round score.
Tips: Stay near the middle when the ring starts to close; the edge is where snakes get trapped. Circle around a smaller snake to box it in, then tighten the loop. Save your boost for a cut-off you can actually reach, because every boost costs length. When a snake bursts nearby, sweep through its pellets quickly before the bots arrive. Two cut-offs within ten seconds score a double cut bonus.
Rounds last one to three minutes, so Snake Arena fits a coffee break and is easy to replay. Your best score, tier, skins and progress are saved automatically.
How to play
Touch: press anywhere and drag the way you want to go; double-tap and hold to boost. Mouse: your snake heads toward the cursor; hold the left button to boost. Keyboard: Left/Right or A/D to turn, Space, Shift or Up/W to boost, P or Esc to pause, M to mute. Eat pellets to grow, make other snakes crash into your body, and be the last snake inside the closing ring.

- No. Every rival snake in Snake Arena is a bot, so the game works instantly, even on a slow connection, and the difficulty grows with your arena tier.
- How do I boost on a phone?
- Double-tap and hold anywhere on the screen. Keep your finger down to keep boosting, and drag to steer while you boost. Boosting spends a little length.
- How does scoring work?
- You get 1 point per pellet, 2 per pellet dropped by a knocked-out snake, 50 per cut-off (plus 25 more for each extra cut-off within 10 seconds), 5 per second alive after the ring starts, a placement bonus (300, 120 or 50) and your final length.
- How do I unlock new skins?
- Skins unlock as you win rounds, collect kills, play more rounds, grow long and reach higher arena tiers. Pick a skin on the results screen; locked skins show what they need.
