About Target Tap
Target Tap is a quick reflex game you can finish in half a minute and replay all day. A glowing target lights up in one of nine cells. Hit it before it jumps away, then chase the next one. Every round lasts exactly 30 seconds, so it fits into a coffee break, a bus stop or the gap between two meetings.
The rules take seconds to learn. Every hit scores a point. Hit five targets in a row and your multiplier climbs, so a long streak is worth far more than scattered hits. Tap the wrong cell or let a target slip away and the combo resets. At first a target waits 1.6 seconds for you; it gets a little faster with every hit, until you are reacting in just over half a second.
Target Tap plays the same on a phone, a tablet or a computer. Tap the cells on a touch screen, click them with a mouse, or use the keyboard: Q, W and E for the top row, A, S and D for the middle and Z, X and C for the bottom, or the number pad if you have one. Keyboard players often find their best scores come from keeping their eyes on the board and letting their fingers rest on the keys.
Your best score and the number of rounds you have played are saved on this device, so you can come back tomorrow and try to beat yourself. There is one achievement to unlock, Steady Hand, for hitting ten targets in a row without a miss.
Tips: watch the whole grid rather than the cell you just hit, keep a steady rhythm instead of rushing, and remember that a miss costs your combo, not your points, so a careful tap beats a wild one. You can pause at any time with the pause button, P or Escape, and mute the sound with M.
How to play
Tap or click the glowing target before it jumps to another cell. On a keyboard, use Q W E / A S D / Z X C or the number pad. Every 5 hits in a row adds a point per hit; a miss resets the combo.
