Pocket Putt Free mini golf on 36 tiny tabletop courses

Flick a golf ball across 36 tiny tabletop courses. Slopes, sand, water and moving walls make the straight line the wrong one.

About Pocket Putt

Pocket Putt is a free online mini golf game you can play in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Thirty-six tiny tabletop courses, each one a toy diorama of felt, painted wood and paper, wait for you. Pull back from the ball like a slingshot, let go, and watch it roll. Every hole is short enough to play in under a minute, and the whole course is a relaxed half hour of putting.

The straight line is rarely the right one. Slopes bend the ball, sand swallows its speed, ice lets it slide forever, conveyor belts carry it sideways, and bumpers bounce it back. Moving walls open and close on a steady rhythm, so you can wait for the gap. Water costs a stroke and puts the ball back where you hit it from, and one-way gates let the ball through in one direction only. Banking a putt off a wall is often the cleanest way in, and a hole in one on a par 2 earns a confetti burst and a golden flag.

The course has four worlds of nine holes each. Paper Meadow teaches walls, gentle slopes, bumpers and sand. Clockwork Attic adds sliding doors and conveyor belts. Tide Docks brings water, bridges and ice. Lantern Rooftops mixes everything together with one-way gates and narrow ramps. Every new hazard is introduced alone on its first hole, and the fifth hole of each world is short and generous so you can catch your breath. Each hole has a par of two to four, and you earn up to three stars: one for finishing, two for par or better, three for beating par. Stars open the next worlds, and the points you score add up on the leaderboard.

Tips: a drag only needs to be as long as the shot. A short pull gives a soft putt that will drop in the cup, while a full pull is fast and may rattle across the cup without dropping. Slow balls fall in, fast ones skip. On holes with moving walls, watch one full cycle before you putt. Aim along the dotted line, check the power ring, and use the bank shots the course gives you. The first three holes show the first moments of your path to help you learn. If a stroke goes badly wrong, you can watch a short ad to take it back once per hole.

There is also a daily hole, the same for everyone, with a best-score and a streak to keep up. You can unlock ball and flag colours as you collect stars. Pocket Putt works with touch, mouse or keyboard, saves your progress on this device and to your account when you are signed in, and loads in a couple of seconds.

How to play

Press anywhere and drag back from the ball like a slingshot: the dotted line shows where it will go and the ring shows the power. Let go to putt, or drag back less than a thumb's width to cancel. With a mouse, click and drag the same way. On a keyboard, aim with the Left and Right arrows (hold Shift for fine aim), set power with Up and Down, and press Space to putt. Slow balls drop in the cup; fast ones skip over. P or Esc pauses and M mutes.

FAQ

How do stars and points work?
You get one star for finishing a hole, two for par or better and three for beating par. Points are 100 for every stroke under the limit of par plus four, 300 extra for a hole in one and 50 extra for a bank shot into the cup. The best result for each hole counts towards your course total.
What happens when the ball goes in the water?
It costs one extra stroke and the ball goes back to where you hit it from.
How do I open the next worlds?
Clockwork Attic opens at 12 stars, Tide Docks at 30 and Lantern Rooftops at 50. Inside a world, finish a hole to open the next one.
Why does a fast ball skip over the cup?
The cup only catches a slow ball. Under 260 units per second it drops, a little faster it rattles round the rim, and faster than that it skips right over, so use a gentle putt near the hole.
What is the mulligan?
Once per hole you can watch a short ad to take back your last stroke without counting it. A hole with a mulligan can still earn two stars but not three.
Does my progress save, and does it work on iPhone?
Yes. Stars, best results and the hole you are on are saved on this device, and to your account when you are signed in. Pocket Putt is free and runs in any modern browser on iPhone, Android, tablets and computers.
