About Reel Haven
Reel Haven is a cozy fishing game you can play in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Hold to cast, watch the bobber, tap the moment it dips, then play the line: every fish fights back, and the rare ones fight hard.
A fishing trip in three beats
Cast. Hold anywhere on the screen and a power ring fills up, then falls back down. Let go when it looks right. A short cast lands in the shallows, a middle cast reaches mid water, and a long cast drops your lure into the deep, where the rarest fish live. A marker shows where the splash will land and how deep your lure will sink before you let go.
Bite. A shadow circles your lure. Sometimes it only nibbles, and the bobber twitches to tempt you. Wait. When the fish really bites, the bobber plunges under and a ring flashes. Tap right then to set the hook. Tap too early and the fish spooks; tap too late and it steals your bait.
Reel. Now the tension bar appears. Hold to reel in and the tension climbs; let go to give line and it falls. Keep the needle inside the moving green zone and the line comes in. Every fish has its own way of fighting. Darters dash away and pull the zone down, so let go. Divers sound for the bottom and push the zone up, so hold firm. Some fish rest for a moment, which is your chance to reel hard. Push past the top for too long and the line snaps. Stay under the zone too long and the hook slips out.
48 fish to collect
Four waters hold twelve species each: the Lily Pond, the Pine River, the Coral Lagoon and the Frost Hole cut through the ice. Every water has commons, uncommons, rares, an epic and one legendary fish, from tiny shiners to a glowing Moonscale Carp. Each catch gets a weight roll, so you can chase trophy-size records long after a page of your journal is full. Uncaught fish show as silhouettes, with a hint about how deep they live.
Gear, waters and a daily rare fish
Fish sell the moment you land them. Spend the coins on rods that hold max tension longer, reels that bring fish in faster, and lures that reach deep water and attract rarer species, or unlock a new place to fish. Every day one rare fish swims closer in one of the waters. The harbor tells you where to look, and it sells for triple. Your best catches swim in your own aquarium.
Reel Haven saves your journal, coins and gear automatically. A trip takes only a few minutes, so it fits a coffee break and is always ready for one more cast.
How to play
Hold anywhere to charge the cast and let go to throw: short casts reach the shallows, long casts reach deep water. When the bobber plunges under, tap to set the hook. Then hold to reel (tension rises) and let go to give line (tension falls), keeping the needle in the green zone until the fish is landed. On a keyboard, Space or Enter does the same as a touch. P or Esc pauses, M mutes.

FAQ
- How do I catch rare and legendary fish?
- Rare fish live in mid and deep water, and epic and legendary fish only in the deep, so cast long. You need a better lure than the starting Red Spinner to reach deep water, and better lures also make rare fish bite more often. A stronger rod and a faster reel make their fights easier to win.
- Why did my line snap?
- The tension needle sat at the top of the bar for too long. Let go as soon as the needle turns red or a fish starts to dash. Better rods hold max tension a little longer before the line breaks.
- Why did the fish get away?
- The line was slack: the needle stayed under the green zone for too long. Hold to reel a little sooner, especially when a fish dives and the zone moves up.
- What is the fish of the day?
- Each day one rare or epic species bites six times as often in one of the waters. The harbor screen shows where to cast for it, and it sells for triple when you land it.
- Does my progress save?
- Yes. Your journal, coins, gear and aquarium are saved on this device, and to your account when you are signed in.
- Can I play with a keyboard?
- Yes. Hold Space or Enter to cast and reel, and tap it to hook a fish. In the harbor, the arrow keys pick a water, J opens the journal, S the shop and Q the aquarium.
