About Spot Kick Cup
Spot Kick Cup is a penalty shoot-out game you play with one finger. Swipe up from the ball to shoot: the direction of your swipe picks where the ball crosses the line, the speed of your swipe is the power, and a swipe that bends sideways puts curl on the ball. Then swap gloves. When the rival steps up, tap or swipe the corner you want to dive to, and try to read him before he strikes.
Every kick is a small decision. A soft, low shot is easy to place but gives the keeper time to get across. A hard shot into the top corner can't be reached, but a little too much power sends it over the bar. Curl is your secret weapon: a keeper reads the first moments of the ball's flight, so a shot that starts toward the middle and bends into the corner can fool him completely. The posts and crossbar are real, too, so you'll hear the clang of the woodwork, and sometimes the ball goes in off the post.
Saving penalties is about reading the run-up. Watch where the kicker starts: a player who begins wide on one side usually shoots across to the other, and a long run-up usually means a high shot. Better kickers hide it more often, and the coolest ones change their mind if you dive too early. Dive too late and your gloves won't get there.
In Cup mode you pick one of 16 fictional nations, each with its own flag and kit, and play through a knockout bracket of four rounds: the Round of 16, the quarter-final, the semi-final and the final. Every round is best of five kicks each, then sudden death, and the rival keepers and kickers get sharper each round. Win the final to lift the Spot Kick Cup. Quick Shoot-out gives you a single match against a random nation, and the Daily Challenge sets ten free kicks and penalties, with walls and tougher keepers, that are the same for everyone that day. Score as many as you can and climb the daily leaderboard.
Matches take two or three minutes, your cup run is saved between sessions, and it plays the same on a phone, a tablet or a computer.
How to play
Shoot: swipe up from the ball. Its direction picks the target, a faster swipe means more power (too much flies over the bar), and a curved swipe curls the ball. Save: when the rival runs up, tap the part of the goal you want to dive to (left, middle or right, high or low), or swipe in that direction. Watch his run-up for a hint. Keyboard: arrow keys aim and set power, Z and X add curl, Space shoots; Q W E dive high and A S D dive low. P or Esc pauses, M mutes.

FAQ
- How do I curl the ball?
- Bend your swipe. A swipe that bows out to the right curls the ball to the left, and the other way round. The ball still lands where you aimed, but its path bends, which can fool the keeper or take it round a wall.
- Why did my shot go over the bar?
- Power and height go together: the faster you swipe, the higher and harder the shot. The top corner needs a firm swipe, but a swipe that is too fast clears the crossbar.
- How can I tell where the kicker will shoot?
- Watch where he starts his run-up. A kicker who starts wide on one side usually shoots to the other side, and a long run-up usually means a high shot. In later rounds kickers hide it more often, and they may switch sides if you dive too early.
- Are the nations real teams?
- No. All 16 nations, flags and kits are made up for the game, and so is the Spot Kick Cup.
- Does my cup run save?
- Yes. Your nation, your progress through the cup, your daily best and your achievements are saved on this device, and to your account when you're signed in.
