About Tight Spot
Tight Spot is a free car parking game that you can play in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer. Your job is simple to say and surprisingly hard to do: drive into the glowing space, stop inside it, and do it without a single scrape. There are 60 levels, and each one is a small puzzle about where your car can go.
The car drives the way a real one does. The front wheels steer and the back wheels follow, so you swing wide, cut in, and learn how much room a turn really takes. On a phone you drag a steering wheel that springs back to centre when you let go, and you hold the drive and reverse pedals with your other thumb. On a computer you use the arrow keys or WASD. Speed is deliberately gentle, so Tight Spot is about precision, not reflexes. Take your time, let go of the pedals, and the car brakes smoothly.
The levels build up in six worlds of ten. Kerbside teaches you straight and parallel parking next to a pavement. Car Park adds pillars and tight aisles. Garage Row asks you to squeeze through a narrow driveway into a garage that is only a little wider than the car. Rush Hour sends traffic along the road, so you wait for a gap, cross, and park. Trailer Park hitches a trailer behind you that swings round every corner. Multi-Storey puts you on narrow hairpin decks, with a wall to swing round and pillars in the way. The tenth level of each world is a boss, with the tightest space yet.
Every level has three stars. Park inside the box for one star. Park without touching anything for two. Beat the par time with no scrapes for three. Five scrapes ends the attempt, but nothing is lost: your last try is drawn on the road as a dotted line, with a red cross wherever you hit something, so each retry teaches you where to turn earlier, wider or slower. If a level has beaten you a few times you can watch a short ad to see the car park itself, and then the route stays on the road for you to follow.
Stars unlock five cars, which look different but all drive the same, so nobody has an advantage. Your progress, best times and stars are saved on this device, and to your account when you are signed in.
Tips: look at the whole space before you move. Short taps on the pedal give you fine control. Turn the wheel before the car moves in reverse, and remember that reversing flips which way the nose swings. Use the dotted line from your last try, and if you are stuck, drive out and start the turn from a different angle. Tight Spot is original, with its own cars and levels.
How to play
Hold the DRIVE pedal (right) to roll forward and the REVERSE pedal to back up. Drag the steering wheel left or right with your other thumb; it springs back to centre when you let go. On a keyboard, use Up or W to drive, Down or S to reverse, and Left and Right or A and D to steer. Drive into the glowing green space and let go of the pedals so the whole car stops inside it. Touching walls, kerbs, parked cars or traffic is a scrape: five scrapes end the attempt. One star for parking, two for no scrapes, three for no scrapes within par time. R restarts the level, P or Esc pauses, M mutes.

FAQ
- Is Tight Spot free, and does it work on my phone?
- Yes. It is free and runs in the browser on Android phones, iPhones, tablets and computers. Nothing to download.
- How do I steer on a phone?
- Put your thumb on the steering wheel at the bottom left and drag it round. The wheel turns the front wheels and springs back to the middle when you let go. Use your other thumb for the drive and reverse pedals.
- What counts as a scrape?
- Any contact with a wall, kerb, pillar, parked car or moving traffic. Each new contact counts once, and five scrapes end the attempt. You can retry straight away.
- How do I get three stars?
- Park fully inside the box, stop for a moment, touch nothing on the way, and finish within the par time shown at the top of the screen. Par is set from a recorded solution with plenty of room to spare.
- What are the dotted lines on the road?
- The path of your previous attempt on that level. A red cross marks each place you scraped, so you can see where to start a turn earlier or wider.
- Why is reversing so tricky?
- When you reverse, the back of the car goes where the wheel points, but the nose swings the other way. Make small moves, keep your speed low, and use short taps on the pedal.
- Do the different cars drive differently?
- No. The five cars are only for looks and are unlocked with stars. Every level is the same fair test for every car.
- Does my progress save?
- Yes. Stars and best times are saved on this device, and to your account when you are signed in.
